New Kinkajou Projector Exhibit at the National Design Museum

Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum's Design for the Other 90%
"Designers, engineers, students and professors, architects, and social entrepreneurs from all over the globe are devising cost-effective ways to increase access to food and water, energy, education, healthcare, revenue-generating activities, and affordable transportation for those who most need them. And an increasing number of initiatives are providing solutions for underserved populations in developed countries such as the United States. Design for the Other 90% demonstrates how design can be a dynamic force in saving and transforming lives, at home and around the world." -- from the exhibit website.

From today through September 23, 2007, DtM's Kinkajou Microfilm Projector will be on view at Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, as part of an exhibit on technologies designed specifically to meet the needs of poor communities in developing countries. Curator Cynthia Smith and the rest of the museum staff have done a fantastic, thoughtful job of presenting these innovations in context. If you're in New York, make sure you check it out!
